The Grammar Geek

  proofreading, copyediting

My mission:

To make the world a
better place through proofreading and
copyediting your work.
To place all commas
correctly, to shorten unnecessary prepositional phrases, and to make you sound like a seasoned  professional writer.

My qualifications:

  1. More than a decade of experience as a writer, copyeditor and proofreader for newspapers, magazines and academic journals as well as print, broadcast and outdoor advertising.

  2. Knowledge of several styles, including Associated Press, Chicago, American Psychological Assn. and Modern Language Assn.

  3. A degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

  4. The uncanny ability to always be right when confronted with English language issues.

Remember all those grammar, spelling, punctuation and capitalization rules you learned in grade school? Of course you don’t. But I do, because I stay up at night reading dictionaries and style guides.
